Agree on the GOT bits. A lot of people are being highly critical of things in the season that are in process and building.

Also, a word on the time-line, the problem with the books and the first five seasons of the series which were based closely on the books -- is that it took forever for anyone to get from point A to point B, and they often failed in the attempt. OR would be horribly side-tracked. There was one point in the books, and during those seasons, in which I thought -- why even bother leaving your house, you'll never get there.

So, shortening the travel time between places, an age-old television and film device is not that problematic. (Heck, consider people loved 24, and that was even less believable. Actually 24 wasn't plausible at all. But another discussion.) And...we have no idea how long it took. The events could be taking a month or so later. Be nice if the writers put in there -- a month later, but we can assume it took a month or at least two weeks for Jon to get to Dany, but nothing of interest happened in between.
